On day 9 Without Liquor!

I'm going to bed soon, when I wake I will have 10 full days without liquor, I have no cravings to get drunk right now... I still have a few other bad habits left to break.
I have been going threw a wide range of emotions, especially at night before bed... any advice for coping/dealing with these feelings in a positive way?

Forget the other bad stuff for now, expect the emotional stuff.....maybe a herbal sleeping pill?, 10 days is good, 11 will be better.:c029:

Congratulations!! I found out that I could only deal with so much in early recovery. Had a few bad habits, and even years later, I'm STILL smoking but have gotten the "emotional eating" mostly under control.

The one thing I did learn was not try to get rid of all my bad habits at once. I focused on my DOC (drug of choice, crack) first, until I felt like I had my feet back under me. Then I started tackling other things, but only one at a time....and I had a LOT of bad habits.

Still have some of them, but wow...I've made some major progress on others! We're human, we are never going to be perfect. My suggestion is taking care of the one causing the most harm/damage/etc., get okay with that, then move on to the next one.

I do know that many have quit their DOC and smoking at the same time, but it wouldn't have worked for me. I just keep recovery first, and so far, so good (6+ years in recovery).

Hugs and prayers,

Amy
