Sister to alcoholic says hi!

The title was quite a struggle. It is new to me to think of my older brother as an alcoholic.

But I'm here to learn more about alcoholism and for support regarding my brother. Curious about if there are any other familymembers of addicts here? :)

Anyway, my name is Mila, adopted from Poland with my brother. My brother was in AA for some time but left after several bad experiences. It was quite religious and we both don't want to be involved in anything religious or spiritual. Of course, I fully respect that other people do and what they believe in :)
My brother started drinking when he was 14, but I'm not sure when it turned into an addiction. A few years back he was in treatment the first time - ended up being sober for almost 2 years :)

Best of thoughts to everyone!

Hello Mila, and welcome!

There is the family of alcoholics where you'll find plenty of support, but also the secular connections forum with info about other programs such as SMART.
Plenty to read and learn, and an abundance of support!

All the best
