Update:: On Day 6 no liquor &...
&... It's 3pm on day 1 of quitting weed. I am here with a coffee & cigarette now... One thing at a time :P
I spent last night preparing a sermon & will do another tonight to occupy myself.
Any Advice or encouragement for me?

Good job, Pastor. You can do this. Distracting yourself by keeping busy is key. I didn't prepare sermons but I took walks, watched tv, anything & everything to keep my mind occupied.
a point of repentance
with you being a Pastor
I'm sure it has worried you as it has worried me at times
"drunkards don't go to heaven"
maybe that's a harsh message
but
who am I to argue with the big guy upstairs
so our encouragement today could be
yes
thank you God I actually do have a shot at heaven
thank you God that you have brought me to a point of repentance
for some will suffer with a hardened heart
and never have a chance to repent

Advice asked for: Give some one a call from NA...or call your local NA hotline...share the good news...you helped us here at SR but go a bit further and talk to someone over the phone...or meeting up with another addict over coffee and a meeting....your next step is to help by just plain sharing....best to you...your post is an inspiration

I am still sober from liquor but restarting my count on weed. I seem to get very tense and angry without it... and my temper can be a scary thing to say the least. How to deal better with anger just the feeling inside?
