Time for a change!!
I am new to this site - I decided to join after subjecting my lovely hubby to another shocking night of drunken antics - this is now the 8th Saturday in a row where I have got absolutely wasted and given him hell. Only last night I decided to wake up my 3yr old. Since having my second baby 9 weeks ago I have drank shamelessly - it's not good and I can see myself losing my lovely little family unless I get myself straight. I am currently rotting on the couch whilst my husband bakes a cake with my little uboy - I feel horrific both mentally and physically
weve been here before my hubbs and me and i need to sort it out
Day 1 starts today - any tips would be much appreciated xx

Congratulations on Day 1, Sarah, welcome!
My advice is not to let your head get too far in front of you. Set small goals... one day at a time, then one week at a time. In the beginning, go really easy on yourself. Don't try to take on too much. Allow yourself to be more self-indulgent than normal. Have lots of snacks and tea on hand and distractions, like TV or movies or good books.
You might also want to start a journal. Write down everything you're thinking right now, about why you need to quit. Write about all the things that you will gain from being sober. And as time goes on and you start to think about drinking again, write about that too.
Do you plan to use a method, like AA or AVRT?

I don't do meetings myself but I've been to a handful, the people are very nice. I mostly use this board.. giving and asking for advice helps me a lot. And yoga/meditation. And now that I'm a few months in I've added therapy to the mix.
I've heard really good things about the Alan Carr book.
