Hi, 40 days sober today and I am feeling really good about myself. I decided to join the forum because I have had a very rough week (2 family members in hospital with very serious medical conditions) and as there are not a lot of support meetings in my area I was hoping this would help me. I can see that I will benefit far more that I thought and am very please to be here!

Congratulations on 40 days!!! :) How have you been doing so far?

thanks for the welcome.
I have been doing well; I have tried to stop many many times and have always struggled with acceptance and surrender. This time I realised my life as it was was not worth living and that I had to get profesional help and be honest about my drinking.
I have a great therapist who I speak to or e-mail daily and I am working on changing my way of thinking and it's working really well for me.

Welcome seahorse! I hope things will improve for your family.

I'm glad you're feeling good about yourself at 40 days. We all know how hard it is to achieve that goal. :) Glad to have you here - I think you'll really benefit from the support and encouragement.
