Tips for w/d?

I'm only on day 1, so things are ok right now but I am sure it will get rough later.

What does everyone do to help with w/d?

I guess im still technically withdrawing but feeling better than yesterday. LOTS of water and food, especially those isotonic sports drinks. Lots of rest, sleeping is always the best method if you can, but I get really anxious and panicky and cannot sleep.

Remember to call for medical help if you start to feel worse, better to be safe than sorry. Take care

Are you coming off of alcohol or another substance? Alcohol withdrawals can be fatal...if you start to feel really bad, seek out help from a dr.

Alcohol, but I have gone a week with out drinking. I only had mild w/d at that time. My problem is I really can't make it past that until I find my self running to the store. My self control is not very good sometimes.

welcome

Least's link is a good one...basically I made sure I ate well, kept my fluids up and stayed at least a little bit active.

Don't hesitate to see your Dr if you're concerned either.

In the long run, I think it's important to find support...comeing here really helped me focus on the fact I had a probnlem and stopped me running to the store like I used to.

Outside of all that, a sonic screwdriver would probably fix it too...

Or a tardis, I could go back in time when I first started drinking and smack my self silly!
