1 Year today !
On May 14th of last year I hit rock bottom. 2 days later, May 16th, I started my recovery. To anyone who says you can't do this on your own to an extent you are correct. I needed my Mom and Dad and strength through prayer. All done on my own. There are no guarantees on my future but my long term prognosis is promising. I do not crave alcohol and haven't for a long time. I was an every day drinker for years. I have not attended meetings. We are all different and this is what has worked for me. I post occasionally on here and have my neighbor who is 30 years sober. Happy Sobriety Day to me!

No prob! I just want people to know that we CAN get sober in different ways. Some people, but very few I will add, push meetings like its the only way and all others are doomed to fail. Just not the case with me. Any one of us could relapse with or without meetings but my plan, if I ever feel weak, is go to my neighbor who is 30 years sober and then, if need be, get into Group. A year in and I couldn't feel better about my Sober future!

You'll get there! It honestly seems like only yesterday that I made the decision to get well and here it is a year later. Congrats on 38 days!
