Hi

I'm new to this forum. Hell I'm new to sobriety. Did really well a few months ago but have gradually slipped again. New start from today with a new plan. Unfortunately AA isn't for me and I cant do this alone so am looking for support and others who have been through this.

Welcome Sally,
I'm not into AA either...I only use SR and have found it very helpful.
Good luck to you.

Welcome! Reading and writing posts here does help I find! Congrats on taking step 1, and best wishes for your continued sobriety!~

Thank you guys. Two first in one day - I've never been on a forum before either. Bit confusing finding my way around it - but its keeping my mind off of wine so got to be a plus.

Ask whatever questions you like...people here will help.

Welcome and I felt the same way 51 hours ago ;) Just like I have kept saying; what has helped me is posting and reading :) There are allot of good people here and some great posts in other forums .. :welcome

Thank you all. Oddly reading stuff on here and having people respond to me so quickly helps already.

I've felt so alone :c021: but nobody seems to judge on here or tell me that I need to turn to god. I've been reading some of the other strings just really good advice and confirmation that its not just me.

Hopefully I have found something that can really help me - thank you so much.

I'm had a really bad night and feel really alone too. But we are not alone. We have each other. Keep posting. Someone somewhere in the world is always on this forum. We are definitely not alone. :)

Hello Sally

Lots of support here and not everyone believes in AA or God (including me)
Stick around i'm sure you'll find it helps.

Hi, Sally. Welcome to SR!

Please, don't be confused, post here any time you feel like.

It's the least judgemental place I've ever seen, so you'll always get help and kind words here. And you are never alone in SR)

I was in wine as well, and can tell you - life is much better without it!

Stick to your sobriety plan, take one day at a time, post here.

Best wishes to you)

Welcome Sally! SR is a wonderful place, a whole lot of support here, I dont go to meeting neither, but I do spend alot of time here reading & posting. Every time I get a craving I come here, it does help for me anyway. Good Luck & just stay strong!!

Welcome Sally..I'm a newcomer too and there is really nothing like passing the time on here reading and posting.. I've often looked at the clock and an hour or two has past by! Where does the time go! But at least I wasn't sitting on the couch watching mind numbing tv with a bottle of wine!! The support, advice and support from people that have been there is invaluable..best of luck in your journey! x

Hi and welcome Sally :)

There's many different approaches and methods of recovery around - here's some links to some of the main players (including but not limited to AA):

I recommend you visit the Secular Connections forum if you think you may benefit from a non 12 step approach.

Sally, welcome, and you are definitely not alone.

We welcome any and all methods of recovery here and I'm glad you found us.

Welcome to a great place, Sally!

I used mainly SR and books about recovery to get sober - after drinking my whole life. It was great to not be alone anymore - and to be able to talk freely about the challenges of quitting. You can do this!
