Return of Migraines After Quitting Drinking

Hi all,

I used to suffer from migraines when I was a child up until my teenage years. I am now 31 and have been sober for 12 days during which I have had 2 quite severe migraine attacks (a visual aura that precedes the attack, followed by one sided intense throbbing headache and vomiting, I also feel that my mood is changing quite dramatically before and after the attacks going from almost exhilarated to depressed/anxious within a short time frame).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,
S

See a doctor, could be low blood sugar or something...

I've never had this but I would strongly suggest you see your doctor about it.

Thank you DAB and Least. Will see my doctor on Monday and discuss this. Hope you're both doing well!

Sobreia, I dont know if its different with alcohol or drugs, but Im addicted to Opiats, 7 days clean! But I also went through a couple of days with the horrible migraines, the whole time thinking it would go away if I took a pill, but I didnt, I just go to a dark quiet room, with an ice pack or very cold cloth, also a garbage can because I would vomit with the migraines too, I also took otc meds for migraines. Its horrible I know, but it will pass, I have a history of migraines too, but as crazy as it is I pretty sure I would rather have a bad day here & there than to have bad days for the rest of my life ;) Good Luck
