Hello!

I am not new to recovery, but I am new to this online forum. Just checking it out and seeing if it will be helpful in my sobriety

Welcome Shawn, Ive only been here 3 days but I find this place extremely helpful! When I feel anxious or have cravings ( which is most of the time right now ) I come here, it has helped me to NOT give in to those evil cravings Good Luck!

Cool! That is great to hear. The face to face meetings in my area that I like are a drive and I am looking into this as an option.

A little about my history. I grew up with an alcoholic father and codependent mother. Started drinking and using when I was real young but really progressed in my twenty's. I finally had enough for good and got sober on my own at first and then joined AA for awhile then left and got into SOS and SMART on my own since there are no meetings around and I don't have time to start one. I am not an AA brasher either! I have had a rough few months and I have always preferred alcohol and have had thoughts of drinking again, which in reality would be a disaster eventually. Looking for inspiration! Thanks!

I get alot of inspiration here Shawn, I am just on day 5 so the cravings & thoughts of using again are very strong, but when I feel overwhelmed with those thoughts I come here ( which is often ) So stay strong! We can beat this demon that wants control of our lives!

Daily prioritizing sobriety can be difficult but is the only way to regain our lives back.
