bedtime stress

It's the same every night...
My mind races with seemingly unending thoughts.
I'm tired as hell and I want to sleep but my brain gets in the way.
Is this from alcohol or something else?

I had this for the first two weeks of giving up. Your brain is used to being numbed by the alcohol. It will pass :)

Yeah, it passes. Bedtime was a source of panic for me at first. I realized that I didn't really "go to sleep" so much as pass out. I would plan my alcohol consumption based on what time I wanted to go to sleep, and drink at a rate that would zonk me out by that time.

The upside is I now wake up and know not only where I am, but how I got there!

It will pass, are you drinking coffee after lunch time? That may not help. A really hot chamomile tea at bedtime may help.
