What is the Florida model of recovery

My first post. I'm in recovery and can't seem to find any objective information on the so called Florida model of treatment. All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am in Florida! I went to detox first, then to 230 meetings in 90 days.( had nothing better to do) , Got a sponsor, started working the steps out of the AA Big Book. Got involved in service. Continued meetings at least 3-4 a week, Started reaching out to newcomers, joined SR. Became a pain in everyones **s. Got sober and clean and happy!!

What was the question? :)

I haven't heard of this? Is this a non 12-step type program?

I can't vouch for the veracity of this info, but this what I googled up with 'florida model substance abuse':

The Florida Model: This type of program provides therapy and other programs for addicts and alcoholics during certain hours of the day, and then sends these people to off-site housing in the evening.
