Finishing day 5, making health changes

I have a lot of weight to lose after a year and a half or so of heavy drinking - I'm at over 300 lb after about 10-12 beers a night or a bottle of vodka.

physical exercise is so much easier to get in to when I'm not drunk, hung over, or detoxing. I went to the grocery store yesterday and was able to pass the liquor aisle without a second glance, but there was a bit of urge there. manageable, though. Got some fresh veggies and I've been making these really yummy sandwiches with spinach, sliced carrot & bell pepper, american cheese and avocado hummus spread. Everyone I mention it to says it sounds gross, though :/

either way, after that and considering the previous 3 months or so of on-off drinking, I'm noticing a significant change in my appearance. yay me!

Woo hoooooo!

I'm on day 10, seem to be in a very similar mindset as you. :) I've started eating better, exercising lightly, getting out of the house more.

That sandwich sounds friggin' delicious. I eat meat, but it doesn't even sound like it needs it. I'm glad your recovery is going strong so far, I hope to keep this momentum going. Good luck!
