the great unknown
I feel like Tom Hanks on his raft aimlessly floating at sea, with no direction, no compass...
but at least he had Wilson...at least for some of his journey.
P.S.
Then Wilson floats away...Tom Hanks tries desperately to save Wilson, but has to make a crucial decision: save Wilson but most certainly drown...or let Wilson go... and live.
Wilson represents alcohol to me.

Hi, Gmanriley.
While Wilson was worth saving his life, alcohol is surely not worth it.
Alcohol messes up with your compass, it dragged you into the great unknown and feeds on your fears and uncertainty, like a blood sucker. And it is a life-sucker.
So, let it float away. I'd rather say - make it float away, because it will fight for staying in your life.
And don't romanticize it with beautiful metaphors - try to look at it as it is - just dirty poison that ruins you life.
Best wishes to you.
