WANTED:: Good Advice For Withdrawls>Quitting.

HI! Thanks for taking the time to read this!

I rarely ask for help or advice but this seems like the place for me to vent.

Citalopram 40mg per day morning.
Seroquel 150mg per day at bedtime.
For years now been on this kind of stuff...

8 days without liquor & whores!
8 minutes without a joint...

I want to stop everything including cigarettes!

I have noone to talk to turn to trust so I'm sending out a message in a bottle.
Hoping some good advice comes my way here...

Hi Pastor - welcome

I think support is very important - you'll find lot of that here.
Are you looking for support beyond SR as well, in the 'real world'?

There's many different approaches and methods of recovery around - here's some links to some of the main players:

I recommend you visit the Secular Connections forum if you think you may benefit from a non 12 step approach.

Reading and posting here at SR
Putting down the drink and drugs
(remember addiction/alcoholism are the illnesses)
(drinking and using are symptoms)(alcohol/drugs are literally poison)
Honest consultation with MD or GNP
Call your local 12 step hotline
Meet up with AA/NA members before a meeting
Inpatient/Outpatient treatment
medical detox at hospital
Help other people to achieve sobriety
consultation with a dietician -- eat food and stay hydrated
physical check up

Not too much to ask for you to get off the hamster wheel you are on...get through any withdrawals...and start living a life beyond your wildest thoughts!!!

Best to you...
