detox

just wondering, what happens if you don't like detox and want to leave, can they make you stay?

I don't know Dan, but if you need it, please go. Trust the process and take care of yourself.

I've never been to detox but I imagine you can leave.
I wouldn't advise it tho.

If you need detox please go Dan - and stay the distance.

edit: I saw your last post - glad you're sober

I'm about to go and am going voluntarily so I could leave anytime. Same with last time but unfortunately I was kicked out. I think only if under court order or if you've been white carded can they make you stay.

Did five weeks around 18 years ago and there were no leaving restrictions then.
It was a learning curve of sorts, and the over all experience was quite tolerable.
I did drink afterwards but much more sanely.....Good luck!

Dan, nice to know you are helping yourself. Stick around and stay at the detox, maybe it's time to grow up a bit?

Big Hugs,

excellent on the almost two year aniversary! I actually made it to two and a half years once (went looking for a smiley face with tougne out), no, all kidding aside, I've been wanting to pop in to say how much better I've gotten with the abuse problem but didn't want to jinx it. I'm entertaining thoughts that I could pull it off altogether and stop completely. I'm just a little restless or energized that I'm not passed out, so I'm here hittin the keyboard (sober)

I went to detox in 2001 in the State of NY and I saw some people who got their welfare checks and walked out of detox (against medical orders). No one can make you stay.
