First time actually trying to quit

Hi everyone. I say this is my first time because I've only ever tried to quit drinking on my own. It has never worked. I now realize that I need help from others if I want to succeed in this.

It is late and I'm about to fall asleep but the main reason I did this is so hopefully I can connect with a few people one on one and have someone there to talk to just in case I get the urge one night. I'm new so I'm not sure how this site works but if there is anyone out there who wants to talk, feel free to contact me. I always have my phone on me and I can always answer emails. I can help you stay strong just like I know you can help me.

See you tomorrow.

:welcome You've made a good choice to live your life free of the chains of alcohol. There are a lot of resources and people here with a wealth of experience. Stick around, read and ask questions, and hopefully you'll find yourself on a path to sobriety.

Welcome Dragon. SR is a fantastic place to start your sobriety. You will find a lot of experience and support on these pages. You're completely right in that staying sober is something best done with others. I tried it on my own many times and it never worked. Connecting to people who share a common malady is very invigorating. All the best.
