Day 1
Hey Lizela ,
I got my sober bike here , you might take a tumble or fall off when your learning, i did when i learned to cycle .
Even people with experience sometimes take a tumble , but it is worthwhile dusting yourself off , getting back on as soon as you can and carrying on with trying to learn how to cope with the up's and down's sober .
When i fell off my bike as a child i didn't give up or beat myself up i got back on and with practaice learned how to do it , like any skill .
Treat yourself and your body gently , get more support if you need it , try to draw the useful lessons from the experience and leave the un-useful stuff behind .

I used to reguarly try to give up on sundays .. sometimes i managed to get as far as sunday afternoon .
In the end my Grandma died and all i was concerned about was how i could use it to go on a binge, i didn't like myself when i realized that . I used to think although i was an alcoholic, that it only effected me , i stopped that weekend and haven't drank since .
None of us is unique in fighting this , it is painful and difficult to live sober sometimes but it is worthwhile ,

Hi Lizella. You're one step closer to doing this - you learned something, and you came back to try again. I drank all my life & I made it out of hell. You will too - be patient with yourself.
Hi Lizella
I used to feel I could never do this either...but I think everyone can
I think the thing is to think about what more you can do for our recovery - what further changes can you make? what more support can you find?

You can do this....many of us are examples of people who never believed that they would achieve recovery...and we did...and so can you. When things get dark, turn on a light and reach out for support...before your addiction kicks in. You have to really really really really want it....no matter what.
What everyone else said. You can do this.
Whats done is done so stop telling yourself you failed and put that energy into recovering.
It used to irritate me when someone would say 'if I can do it anyone can', but really it is true. I drank 100s of times after I told myself I was quitting. I know the feeling too well.
Today can be day 1. The first day of your new life

Don't beat yourself up - I and I guess most here had day 1 - failed!!
I had blooming loads of them!
Your still here so that makes it firstly a step in right direction!
Just think get passed day 1 then you have broken a barrier!.. Then day 2 comes along- you didn't drink day 1 so why bother drinking day 2?!!
You can do this !!
