What happened to it all?

Started out socially drinking in my twentys and finnished daily non stop drinking recently. Boy, I spent a lot of money. I look at new cars and motorcycles and think I could have had them if I didn't give all my money to the bartender. Anyone else feel that way?

It would be mind-blowing if I could somehow physically SEE all the money that I have spent on alcohol over the last 8 years. It would be enough cash to swim in. If I could get it in nickels, I could stack enough of them to probably make a tiny house and live in it.

I don't want to even think of the dough I've given to the bars and other things related to alcohol.

Welcome JohnnyO,
Read around and you'll probably find that one on the list of many. I know it was one of mine but unfortunately several more also came. None of which were good. But that can all change. That's the good news. There is a lot of great support here. Feel free to share or ask questions. Keep reading and post away!

I was wasting about £180 a week at the end - don't even want to think about it!

Yep. I started out the same way. It went from good times to being broke, unemployed, and 24/7 drunk. Took about 10 years to hit bottom.

Vastreaction! We could be neighbors. I think I'd have enough left over for some landscaping.

After my first 12 months i bought an expensive electric guitar. For my second i am investing in a quality acoustic.

We can shape the future. The past is gone. Regrets can be a trap.
