Day 11. Saturday Night's Big Test
 

So decided I needed to get the heck out of the house and see some friends. Headed down to the city and met up with my best friend and a few others. Decided I was going to be the only sober person in Chicago on a Saturday night. Hung out for a bit while everyone (except me) pre-gamed prior to going to the bar. Although all my friends are addicts also, they are very open minded and were very supportive of my decision to stay sober.

We headed out to the Cubby Bear to see some live music. Gotta tell you the whole place stunk of booze. Something I've never smelled before (prob cause I was always half cocked prior to going to the bar). It actually smelled pretty damn disgusting. Anyway, I was having a great time being sober. As the night went on I watched as everyone around me progressively started to get drunker and drunker, until pretty much everyone in the bar became s***shows. My best friend turned into Stumbles Magee, and then shortly after pulled a Houdini act.

Turns out he went home, passed out, and locked us all out. We all had to sleep in our cars down the street in a parking garage. I woke up this morning with a clear head and thought to myself, "Thank God that's not me anymore. I don't think I could ever let myself be like that again." And it's been a great day 12.
