Detox day one almost over
Congrats changeme!
I'm glad to see silverotter, glasscat, and MBM are still here too!
Keep up the good work.
I STILL haven't taken the Naldrexone. Tonight was tough! Wow! Just knowing that it's Friday and don't have to get up early tomorrow. But I made thru, I binged on potato chips & cake, lol.
Day 7 is behind me.
Thank you all for your support. Lets keep this up!

day 9 starts east coast time
April it is a good idea to have sweets , I find ice cream in perticular helps as you have to worry about sugar levels in your blood.today I have got to get to an AA meeting today ! I have attempted to go the past few days and not made it ! I am going to study today for the certification I am working on , maybe go for a motorcycle ride and generally keeping busy and NOT DRINKING. I also want to review some videos I have me in the ER and withdrawing etc.

Silver, good for you! Of course one day at a time is the best advice, don't think about the future, think about not drinking right now. And don't think about the loss of drinking, think the loss of all the terrible things that go with it and the incredible gains. Money to spend on healthy things, being there for your friends and family, and feeling like you're inside your own skin again!
Don't be like me and use benzos in a detox pattern. It works so much better the first time, and you will feel better and better and better, until you can't believe it. Vigilance is key afterwards.
And of course, you have my permission to eat whatever the heck you choose for a while. My experience is that your appetite will subside. Right now ice cream could be your best friend, and root beer or whatever. You'll wake up the next day happy you ate a large pizza instead of a barrel of booze.

Hi guys it's great to see everyone doing so well. Ice cream is my new best friend, my mood is still up and down a little and tired at times but have more clarity in my head. Managed to finish a course I'd been putting off, and went to aa last Friday, Was scared to death but was all good. Not sure if it's for me but will go back. I have a script for naltrexone but not got it yet, I want to try without meds , start eating healthy etc. day 11 today x
Hang in there MBM. You've got 2 weeks into this.
Can you get Naltrexone? Or find something to replace the cravings? I find that staying very distracted helps ALOT.
I watch TV, a movie, Internet surf, read, munch on junk food...anything.
Stay strong, we are so proud that you made it this far. Change me is right behind you with day 12, I'm at 11. We just need to get thru the hard days and the cravings get less & less.
