Hello ycandi!

Only you can decide when you're done, but why not make a new beginning on a life free of poison before you hit that rock bottom? I really wish I had, and you'll wish you had too!

We're here for you! Keep reading and posting -- this is a great place!

Hi ycandi :)

You'll find a lot of support here. A lot of us here drank for years and turned things around.
Have you ever tried to stop before?

Welcome ycandi. It's good you 'see it coming' - I wish I had. Wise of you to get help now. This is a great place where we all understand.

There's lots of tips and encouragement on this site. Also lots of important information to steer you to the kind of help you need. Just keep reading and posting, and I know you'll find lots of others with the same story as yours, at different stages.

It's hard to quit, but sooo worth it, and YOU are worth it.

Good luck on your journey, hang on!

yes, but problems in my relationship with a depress person just makes me want 2 be numb to it all.

Dee74 04-19-2013 07:56 PM

Drinking over someone elses problem is probably even more futile than drinking over our own I think.

Either way, it's very hard to solve any problem if we're drinking.

I think you'll have a better idea of the situation and what you want from your relationship with a little sober time under your belt ycandy

You'll find a lot of support here to help you deal with stuff. You're not alone :)

Numbing it only postpones dealing with it, which you'll have to do anyways, sooner or later.

Glad you're seeking professional help, too. Your kids will be better off if you deal sooner than later. They need you to be strong. Wish I would've quit when my kids were young...

Good luck, ycandi!

Ycandi, good luck, keep posting here, we all care about you. Yes, drinking over someone else's problems is more futile than drinking over our own. :egypt: :Flower:

24hrs!!!! Now tomorrow...

Vastreaction 04-20-2013 08:51 PM

Good job! Congrats on your first day. It is no fun, but it's so worth it. I've had some slip-ups lately, but I've got 3 days under my belt and I intend to keep that number growing!

Odelle 04-20-2013 09:04 PM

You already know that it isn’t easy, but it is so worth it! Hang in there YCandi, take it one day at time, even in increments of 15 minutes when necessary. The days will begin to accumulate and in the process you will begin to feel better. It’s amazing to me knowing that today is my 73rd day sober, something I could never have envisioned just a few months ago. It works if you really want it YCandi, and the longer you abstain, the more you will want it!! If you haven’t done so already, you may want to join the Class of April thread for shared experiences, encouragement and support from others who have also quit this month.

Sorry I've been off for so long, but the good news is i'm still sober!!! No slips and trust me this was the week I could have slipped. I was in a dark place last week, but I got through it. Now i'm working on seeing the light for the first time in a long time... I know its just 1 week, but I'm so happy I made it this far. Stay strong guys there are better days around the corner.

Dee74 04-25-2013 04:51 PM

Glad to hear you're doing well ycandi :)
