Looking for info

I am new to the recovery world. I used for 8 years using 40 mg of hydrocodone per day. Currently on day 12. Looking for someone who used similar amount for a similar amount of time and is 6 months or more sober. It would help my resolve tremendously if I knew that this type of a use can be recovered from fully. If I knew that I will be normal someday I could stick with it for as long as it takes.

Welcome to SR. Anyone can recover, no matter what one's usage was, if you are determined to quit. We have a forum just for substance abuse; you might read through somr posts and get a sense of what level people were at when they quit or when they came here.

Substance Abuse - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

While I abused pain pills (oxy) I was never hooked. However, as an observer of what addicts of narcotic pain pills go through, support helps. I mean face-to-face support.

Good luck.

You found a great place, NavyVet. I don't have the specific experience you're looking for, but as someone who drank for 30 yrs, I know you can let go of it and have a beautiful life. I hope you'll find SR will give you hope and encouragement.
