With you on this fine sober weekend coming up :-)

I'm gonna go to bed early and get up very early and wake the birds up - revenge for when I was feeling very hungover last weekend in bed and they wouldn't shut up !

Your card is marked pigeon ....

Took a beautiful young strawberry blonde lady to lunch. She's a head-turner now, but I still remember the day she was born. Thank heavens she got her mother's looks and not mine. Would have cost me a fortune in 'rhinoplasty'.

My network drive is installed, and I have automatic backups to it set up. I am also doing a manual backup, and it looks like it is going to take about 12 hours to back up 13 gig of stuff. That seems like an extraordinarily slow backup rate to me. Wonder why it's so slow. My internet and network connections seem fine...

I also took a nap. I woke up at 3 a.m. today, so I don't feel like a nap was out of line. Having a coffee now, but need to not over-caffeinate or I won't sleep tonight.

Ring Ring.

I'm in for my fifth weekend sober; I was a friday night binge drinker, drinking about 12 beers in 5 hours on friday nights and recovering the rest of the weekend.

My excuse for sobriety this weekend is the lousy weather.

Happy sober weekend, everyone.

Good job thenewguy!

I am here as well. At the most drunk time possible.

The burgers are prepped. Tater salad at hand.

Sober weekend!

I never celebrated sober weekends before, because I was never a weekend drinker (unless the week's binge trailed on into the weekend). My #1 trigger was work stress, and I just wasn't stressed on the weekend.

But that changed with my most recent relapse. Part of why the relapse happened is because I got the "bright idea" that I could drink on fridays! Why had I never tried that before!

Well, I'm sure you all know the next thing that happened. My binder started on friday and lasted though the next week.

So... long story short.... Now I'm going to celebrate sober weekends along with every other sober day I have! Low stress AND sobriety! A good combination

Due to a kitchen glitch, I had to take the family out to dinner and of course it had to be at a restaurant where I always have had a martini or two with the meal. AV screams at me in those situations, but tonight I yelled back.

Only water tonight, and it was nice to see that the bill was about $25 less than usual.

This is progress

Yes, I will be having a sober weekend for sure! And quiet. I have plans to catch up on my reading and I have tons of TV shows I have recorded and have to watch! No time for booze anyways!

Raining, as expected, this morning. Looks like I pay bills and clean the workshop.

Sunshine here in the UK ,
Have the convetible hood on the car but no place to go ...

Need to do a big tidy up as i've got people in to service the heating system next week .. have some large bin bags , the hoover but i seem to have missplaced my enthusiasm... maybe i'll find it sat here on the sofa watching the telly drinking coffee ...LoL as if !

Had a chain snap on a hoist holding a 4000 kg pump on thurs it fell 40ft down a shaft , cables and chain flying around ... am lucky to be here today & my 3 colleauges .. bosses have started the blame game "kangaroo court" Looking for the most irelavent details to try and mitigate some of the responcibility ..

I do feel like quitting and finding a job doing something different where if something breaks it aint life threatening , i am very good at what i do tho' and it seems a shame not to use those skills ...

Today is a good day , the best we've got for the moment , stay safe y'all , *ring ring*

Up feeling refreshed. Raining but supposed to brighten up later. Perfect for getting stuff done this morning and relaxing when the sun comes out.

Making a cup of Earl Gray.

Ring ring!
