A newbee to this forum

Hello all,
My Name is Mary. I joined the Recovery family in August of 2007.
I used to live in southern CA but moved back to my home town of Buffalo NY because of my disease. I had a very supportive family who helped my deal with my alcoholic illness. Buffalo has a wonderful recovery program in AA.

I have some current issues that I am dealing with as I recently had a relapse. I spent the last year and a half helping my sponsor with a fatal illness. She had cancer and I was a great help to her. Unfortunately she died this past November. I did not really have the good sponsor / sponsee relationship because of the situation. I was able to help her but I hurt myself by not getting another sponsor. I have a new sponsor but I am struggling.

Any words of encouragement would be appreciated. I need to get back on the beam. Thank you and Amen

Hi Mary

I'm not in AA myself, but I know you'll find a lot of support and ideas here.

Welcome aboard

D

We can help pick up where AA leaves off!

Good to hear from you Mary. Sorry to hear about the death of your sponsor. Was her passing and your relapse connected? It's good to know that Boston has a strong AA fellowship. It sounds like a good place to live. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the SR family! Like most families we don't agree on everything - but we all want to help others and ourselves get over our addictions. You seem a natural fit, so don't be shy!

You can do this!
