Perspective
I hope I"m not off topic here...
I'm on day 2 sober and have been filled with hope until I was reminded how difficult this path would be by a friend...I started to panic momentarily and started feeling irritated and anxious.
About 30 minutes later my wife called in tears after receiving the news that one of my daughters classmates, a beautiful 14 year old girl who has cancer, was being pulled off life support tomorrow.
For the moment I gained some perspective and realized that even though I'm struggling, I at least have been given the chance to do so.
Wishing all of us the best as we go through this journey...

Lovely thoughts, Fuego. Yes we have been given an amazing second chance. I have a feeling you'll be using yours wisely. Better days are ahead - day 2 is rough.

Thank you everyone for your replies. Yeah its tragic...The young girl is gone now and I hope her family can find peace. Its a reminder to me that life is a gift that can be taken away at any time.
