That's what I liked about this program is they help you getting going to the gym, they offer yoga, and massages and help you with setting up a fresh balanced diet, etc.
I know the mental part of this is going to be the hardest part, but with the physical part I think it will teach me ways to cope and be healthy physically and mentally long term once I leave the program.

Rehab is a great choice. I was not scared because I knew everyone was in a similar situation.Everyone is super nice because they are all trying to better themselves. Plus you get to meet people who want to be sober. It is a positive experience. I was told that rehab is good for the month or so you do it, but to also attend AA meetings as much as possible. I go to 3 AA meetings a week, then hang out with my AA people during the week. Its a great time. I still slip now and again but AA is the way.

One thing he did say is this is a NON 12 step center. He said they focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. (had to cheat and look it up on their website)
Not sure what that means, but he did say at the end of the program they introduce you to AA so they can understand how it works and see if it will help them in their sobriety.
Its all greek to me at this point.

Ask away! We're good for that!
In detox, I--and most of the other alcoholics--just slept for the first couple days. We had nightly AA or NA meetings done by volunteers from the community, but you could choose to be in bed instead of going to the meeting.

Sorry, I really can't help you if we keep posting at the same time. Even if I wait an hour and a half, BOOM!
How many days until you enter detox? And there is a thread here for just about any psychiatric diagnosis, please look around.

...and I can't say what a doctor will or won't do for you, but I was given a prescription; that is one reason I slept so much in early withdrawal.

I am guessing the timeline will be somewhere around Thursday or Friday.
They just emailed me and told me my insurance has authorized everything (a relief) and they are just working on availability. The rehab center said they might not have a bed for a week. I just want to try to get the timing set up so I can leave detox and go into treatment. I don't trust myself to come home and not start drinking again.
