Half a year sober and six-pack is back
Hi, my dear SR mates!
I can't believe, but it's been six months already.
And, don't worry - not that six-pack is back you might be thinking about) My six-pack abs is back at last!
Well, actually lost weight and regained fit body is kind of bonus to all the mental improvement that has happened during this time.
Life still has its ups and downs but I became more settled and don't give a tragic approach to anything that goes wrong.
"I am scared" - I can see many newcomers write about this, so was I. I was scared how to deal with all this pain inside without my favorite anesthesia.
I can't tell exactly when it happened but this fear was gone. Besides this "anesthesia" just made pain worse.
To have fun without wine? Easily! I'm still the same, I'm just not poisoned. I have even more fun, because I can see life in brighter colors which are not overshaded my wine fog.
I'm so grateful I found SR half a year ago. Without all the great support, encouragement, and understanding people share here, I wouldn't' get my life back. And six-pack either)
Huge thanks to all you, my friends!
Have a great day.

Congratulations! It took me about 15 years in recovery before I got my sixpack. But I got it nonetheless. Some of us are sicker than others, ya know.
There are indeed many benefits to staying sober. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely nothing left out there for me but death. Done the jails and institutions numerous times. Last it was a suicide attempt.
Now as for the other six pack, I doubt I will see that either, but that's ok too!

Congratulations Midnight! Thank you for sharing your inspirational success!
I'm at two and a half months and am just beginning to see some improvement in the abs peeking through. Your post is an extra inspiration to keep on keepin' on!

6 pack is back?
You are FANTASTIC!
I am getting close here just refining the diet and a little more cardio should do it. Down over 20 pound since getting sober 4 months ago.
Look out pool, here I come!
