Today is hard!
Hello! I am new to this site, I have only been sober for 9 days & today is the first day since I stopped that I am having a rough time. I'm irritable & really feel like a beer, it's nice to know I'm not the only one having a rough time
When I think of drinking, I think of all the people that I have verbally abused when I drank & that helps me not want to drink but it is really hard.

Good job on 9 days I'm only one day ahead of you. I made a list of the reasons why I hated drinking. I listed all the embarrassing , stupid and hurtful things I had done. Also my feelings and emotional issues that come with alcoholism. I think its good to write all that down now while its still somewhat fresh in your mind. I ended up with 51 reasons why i hated drinking. Best wishes for you

That's a great attitude. For me, remembering all of the bad things I have done while drinking, makes me want to institute policies, so I don't do those things while I drink. Your solution makes a lot more sense. good luck to you.

Hi nan. 9 days is a great achievement.
I was still feeling irritable for a couple weeks, but every day was a little better than the last. You're doing a wonderful thing for yourself by holding on to your precious sobriety. All the bad memories will fade away, and you'll start making wonderful new ones to take their place.
