23 days For the past week I've had a terrible cold, but I'm actually kind of enjoying waking up feeling awful but not because I'm hung over. I realize that I used to attribute pretty much every discomfort to my drinking and beat myself up over it. I used to feel like I didn't deserve self care and compassion because I did it to myself. This cold makes me feel real. |

Congrats on 23 days Briar! Isn't it fantastic to actually feel life again. Way to go! :c015: I hope you're over your cold very soon. |
Great job on 23 days Briar. |
:scoregood Keep working on your sobriety and you'll feel better soon! |
I understand. Sometimes it is almost a relief to know I am ill and there is no way on earth that booze can be involved. The torture that every single ache or pain is my liver is long gone for me. I no longer check have to check my skin and eyes in case I am yellow and thats brilliant. |
welcome to SR Briar - and despite the positives you're taking from it, I hope you feel better soon :) D |
I am just getting over a cold and on day 11. Just wondering if not drinking and getting colds etc. Is related. Like giving up leads to minor illnesses in the short term. When I was drinking and I got a cold, I would drink through it. |
