Been through it many times and it never gets easier. Our pets are a part of our family and they are deeply missed when they're gone. I'm glad you were able to say goodbye. I'm positive he knew how loved he was and was grateful for the love and care he received.

Hi FM, I only understood the huge role pets can play in a family when I got my cat. I joke that I love him more than my (adult) children.
I just wanted to say that handling this sad time without resorting to drink will be a fantastic example for your children who are watching and absorbing everything around them.

It's tough putting down one of our furry friends. Hang in there. Sometimes life just sucks, but we don't have to use over it.
