*Ring Ring* Weekenders! Stay Sober Here 4/12 - 4/14

Hey guys, *ring* & checking in for a Friday night start to a sober weekend. I am going to try to stay with you all this weekend (my ninth sober in a row now!) but heading back overseas tomorrow morning so long flights/time differences/and questionable internet at my destination might make that a bit sketchy.
The place I am returning to was the scene of my relapse two months ago after six weeks sober so I am trying not to freak myself out too much tonight. I've got a much better foundation of sobriety support this time including two months worth of AA, a sponsor, and you awesome folks, of course. However if you all could keep me in your good thoughts/prayers, I would be so grateful.
Hope to check back in with you all Sunday evening at some point. Hope everyone has a safe and sober weekend!

I missed you guys!!!! I'm going to a birthday party today in a bar and aaaah I don't really want to. 
Except I do because I love my friend, but still. My best friend told me to call her when I feel like I want a drink so I'm going to do that, and I can check SR on my phone too.
This will be the first party I'm going to where I'm the only one not drinking, so I'm a little scared.

That was a heckuva Friday! Not only did I have to be at work, but I actually had to work while I was there. The horror!
Then the wife and I went to see an attorney about wills and such. Then a friend called. He is out of town and his wife can't get the car to start - could I go over to check it? While I was wire-brushing the battery terminals our wives were splitting a bottle of wine. It didn't bother me, though. I want normal drinkers to feel free to drink around me. I'm the one with the problem, I'll adjust. And I did.
Weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, and I want to make great strides on my deck project. I need to be relaxing on it, not working on it - so it needs to get DONE!
Oh, and BACON!

Saturday morning here. Interesting weekend so far - I have mentioned elsewhere that I am taking small contract jobs to cobble together some cash. This weekend that means I am staying in a hotel near the airport. Last night I went down for dinner at the restaurant for that Fish Fry (ended up a disappointment btw); it was a very lame scene. The conversations I overheard at the tables next to me was beyond cliche. "Oooh my gawd, this salad dressing is just pristine!"...the bar was on the other side of the room and it was more crowded, I could hear people laughing and having fun. I started unconsciously scanning the crowd for "cool" people, I was making mental notes to go up to my room and then come down later to meet some of the "party people", maybe talk to a couple cute girls or whatever. I didn't want to drink but I wanted to be a part of that crowd for sure. But now I am recognizing this type of thinking is my old drinking behavior kicking in....so I opted for a long hot bath, and a movie in my room. Oh, and I ordered apple pie a-la-mode room service for desert.
Up and at 'em early this morning. Plenty of action to keep me busy throughout the day. One more night here then back downtown Sunday night before going back to my home. One foot in front of the other.

It's a cool sunny saturday here...
And a great day for a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich with tomato and cucumber.
I will pass on the cow tongue, thanks...but have had pickled lamb tongue, which is sold in large jars at specialty delis.
You cannot ride a bicycle after drinking booze...no coordination.
