Quitting Drinking
1 year today!!
I'm so proud of myself and it feels amazing to be here. So much has changed and I'm really thankful for so many positive things that have been made possible in my life because of my recovery.

SO awesome DG!!!!! You're personally a huge inspiration to me, because from your past posts, I feel like I am in the same boat you were in and you have done such a great job turning things around Treat yourself to something nice today, you deserve it I wish I could bake you an e-cake hahahaha!

Applauding your ONE YEAR!!!! Happy birthday!!!!
Reading your thread, I'm struck by how similar our relationships sound. Like you when you first started, I'm waiting until I'm a bit more stable to make any decisions. I think I read on another thread that y'all are no longer together? Hope you're hanging in there I am so inspired by your strength, intelligence and balanced approach to life. Truly a role model for me. Thank you SOOOO much for your posts on here; while they help you to get things out, reading them helps me out too. Win win
You rock!!!! Here's to the next beautiful year(s)!

Thank you aistar.
Roguedreams- Yes, my boyfriend just moved out. I'm not sure what is next for us- there's a lot of things I like about him and would like to remain friends, but living together wasn't working out at all. I also wanted to wait til I was a bit more stable and got to know sober me before making any decisions about it. Glad to hear you like my posts.

DG0409 - Many of us know how it feels to STOP. I am proud of you for saying no to alcohol. It can be difficult. I'm only sober for two weeks now. I have a sincere peace growing inside. I enjoy being alcohol free... hang in there!
14 months and still going strong.
Quitting drinking was one of the best if not the best thing I've ever done. So many things in my life are better due to my decision to quit and my determination to stick to it.
These days I am actively engaged in my life. I am passionate about stuff again.
My life is still a work in progress... there are still areas I want to improve on. But I am continuing to see real progress. When I was drinking, I had goals but I really wasn't making much progress on them.
