Having some urges to drink! (HELP)

I'm doing ok, day 5, I'm having some urges to drink however.

I've got a few activities planned etc, but tonight it seems especially hard to shake the thought that it would all be more fun with a bit of an alcohol buzz.

but is a "bit" of a buzz enough for you? Sooo many times I told myself I'd stop after a few, and kept ending up having to hide how much I was really drinking. If not that night, then a few nights later.

Play that tape in your mind all the way through....where will you really end up if you drink tonight?

Good luck, keep coming back here!

Try some cold sugary drinks

Nice cold drink- orange juice or soda- something sugary will help- your blood sugar might be dipping...have a bath if you can- go for a walk...you can get to 6 days for sure- you've come this far. You can do it!

Try to remember 5 days ago, and what it felt like. I can promise that if you are anything like me, it will just bring you pain and misery. Do you go to meetings? The fact that you are posting on here is a good start. You are conscious and aware of the urge.

Not going to meetings but have personal counselling sessions (weekly).

I've just ordered a huge pizza as I find when I'm full I don't crave alcohol as much. I shoukd get something sugary too.

The urges can get very strong. Eat, drink nice juice, and breathe slowly, concentrating on feeling every breath.
Enjoy that pizza! You'll feel like a million dollars when you wake up in the morning.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say, "because you're addicted to alcohol." Just a hunch.

It's a great day for a fresh start. I think i'll stay sober today. Wanna join me? Let's do this!

Absolutely, let's do this. I will check in here tomorrow Nonsensical! I've gone 5 days, I hope one disruption doesn't mean I need to count from start again so to speak - must be another measure?????

Addiction.

Is it possible I'm an addict. Did anyone ever imagine it. Seemed to be under control a few years back and farther.

What happened.

There's a better way. Let's do this!

Some of us don't count days.

The other measure is "I don't drink".
