This morning I woke up to my 6th day of sobriety. It's the first weekend in many months that I have not been at least a little drunk. It was awesome. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and I felt better than I had in years. I am feeling as though I have woken up after a long dream.

I felt so good that I got my motorcycle out for the first time this year and took a nice long early morning ride. Very pleasant and relaxing. I got home before the rest of the family even woke up. I never used to get up before 9 or 10 on Sunday.

I like this. I look forward to more.

Those hangover-free mornings can get addictive! That's one thing that kept me going in those first weeks. Congratulations on 6 days!
