not sober
im sorry to say after 2 months from new year im back on the booze, ive kept away from this site since, im pissed now,..........just saying hello, i need to make another date to start again.
day 50 - 60 is a f**k*r for some reason, I've only got past it once, this time feels much more concrete - just can't be arsed with the secrecy and the paranoia and the waste of life, time and money - give it another go mate - start now, chuck the rest away of you have any.

I think the issue is that I'm a binge drinker so I don't have a compulsion to drink everyday. I need a sponsor... I need to get back into meetings... I've been working long hours and I feel like part of that is just because I need to do so and partly because I'm creating diversions from my sobriety.
Anyways- cheering you both on from Texas!
Blessings,
SB
Welcome back Will
This place really is good for support. Drinking tends to make us isolated and not able to see a way out but at least SR is here all the time to help. Have you got any support where you live before? That might help too x

Will it sounds like you don't want to be drunk and posting here.
You sound miserable.
Why not throw your remaining booze out, take some ice cold water to bed and have a good sleep.
You don't have to be like this anymore if you don't want to.
And to do 2 months? Thats great.
I you can do that, you can do it again.
M best to you
xx

What gets me is how patient alcoholism is. It just sits back, kicks off it's shoes and folds it's arms. And just waits.... Sometimes it shouts a bit, just to let us know that it's still there. And suggests that having a drink would be a great idea. Mainly it waits it out until were in a bad spot. A bit stressed, a little lonely, tired, angry, resentful and then it pounces. I have to keep on eye on it all the time.
Welcome home!

Welcome back Will. You have a ton of support here.
I like to recall what my dad used to tell me when I was a little kid. When my stubborn pony would keep bucking me off, he told me to get up and get right back on the pony again. It was true, and eventually she never bucked me off again. Dust off your boots and you can get back on to your road to sobriety.
Stay strong Will, you can do it!
