Small Relapse

I had a few drinks at christmas... should I continuously be beating myself up about it?

I would quit beating myself up, Like NOW ! If instead you can see how easy it was, where it could have taken you and could any day....It was a warning to even go back to what you were doing early on to stay sober.
Love & Light, Cindy

No, I don't think beating yourself up will get you anywhere. Let it go and move forward sooner rather than later :)

No! That will only encourage another relapse. Have you been sober since Christmas? That's pretty damn good, I'd say. Cut yourself some slack.

I can understand why yourself up.

It's easter for goodness sake. Let it go. Regrets for the past will drag you where you don't want to go.

That was over 3 months ago Zee. I can't see the point of that much self flagellation, especially if you've been sober since.

Yes I have... Thank you for your support as always... I was a bit giddy about my clean liver scan... I did have a couple of glasses of fizz over xmas... but I got horrendously drunk 2 weeks ago... I don't get out much due to agoraphobia but I hooked up with someone who is the mother of my old best friend on facebook... usually I ignore the alcohol in the house, but I went giddy with excitement and got drunk to be happy.... I am NOT proud and my husband wasn't happy either (I phoned him and told him I was drunk...I don't lie!) The hangover was a monster... don'y hate me... I'm not an addict again, twas a glitch... or as normies say... a good night in :(

In the last two weeks, have you been able to stay stopped from all mood altering substances, alcohol included?

Dee74 04-03-2013 08:30 PM

No one going to hate you Zee - I think it's important to get a handle on things tho ...a few drinks here, a few there can be the express ride straight back to square one.

When you say you got drunk to be happy, does that mean you're unhappy otherwise?...I can't imagine being housebound is too much fun.

Have you seen someone about your agoraphobia?
