Worst kind of addict

A counselor once told me that I was the worst kind of addict. This was said 8 years ago at a time when I hadn't experienced the detrimental, devastating effects of chemical abuse. I just thought I had a little too much fun, and I didn't believe I was an addict of any sort.. Presently, however, I admit that I have a severe addiction to any and all mind altering substances. I hope this forum can provide a way for me to talk about it.

I had no idea there was a qualitative scale for addicts. I wonder where I fall on that.

Welcome to SR! You'll find us talking away at just about anything around here. Hope we keep seeing you!

Welcome to SR. Life can be better, there are a lot of people here that have changed from the worst kind of drunks and addicts and now live a better life.

Welcome to SR! I'm pretty sure I'd fall into the same category, as I've abused/become addicted to a lot of things

However, I've got over 6 years in recovery, so even the "worst" of us CAN recover! SR has been a huge part of my recovery and I hope you find the same here

Hugs and prayers,

Amy
