Surprise trigger with my morning joe...
This is a rather odd post but I just had a rather odd thing happen to me...
So I know to avoid foods cooked with alcohol and I have ceased using it in my own cooking.
But sitting here this morning I suddenly got an overwhelming craving and couldn't figure out what was going on. I was actually starting to salivate and I normally don't crave in the morning.
Then I realized I had put Bailey's Irish Coffee Creamer (non-alcoholic but mimics the taste/smell) in my morning cup. Didn't even realize that it was in my fridge and just grabbed it without looking. My friend who stays over sometimes loves the stuff---along with the Amaretto and Kahlua flavors---and has kept it in my fridge for eons and I just never noticed it because I normally drink coffee with straight creamer. Ran out this morning and just grabbed the next available thing.
Funny thing is that I rarely ever put Baileys (the liquor) in anything but that smell slammed into me and I wanted a drink RIGHT THEN. Took a good ten to talk/breathe myself through that one.
Needless to say, poured all of those faux alcohol creamers out but, damn, stuff sneaks up on you when you least expect it.
Trigger from a coffee creamer? Sheesh...makes sense but still...

Non---not quite sure I get the reference here but I am only vaguely familiar with Proust's writings. Did he have a penchant for flavored coffee creamers?
I am pretty sure he is NOT staying at my house but apparently I once tried to convince someone while drunk that William Shakespeare lived in my clothes hamper so stranger things have happened...

Sneaky . . .
Yeah, no one wants to be the person that relapses because of coffee creamer.
Just shows how tricky/funny/desperate that AV gets.
