The Storms are Raging

I feel like I am tied to a post on a pier. The storm is raging and I am being beat by wave after wave of a relentless onslaught. The pier is collapsing and the waves keep pounding me.

However, I am firm in my resolve...I will remain SOBER!

Hang in there, RDB.

Arrr, good on ya, as my ancestors used to say, keep it up and you'll go to Valhalla. Thanks for sharing.

You're not tied to the pier, the pier is tied to you. The waves break over you and then harmlessly retreat. That tide is your bytch.

clean the bathroom and see how you feel afterwards

I don't know why, but it worked for me

When I feel like that I go to an AA meeting. No storms or waves in there.

All the best.

That's lovely sugarbear. Doing something normal. A very underrated solution. The consequences are worth it.

You are in a storm....here's a life ring......it's called sobriety....Don't quit swimming! EVER!

Hang on tight, rdb. Storms pass and each one we endure makes us stronger and ready for the next one

Hold firm to your resolve. You can do this!:)

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement, and admonishments to 'Snap out of It'. I am just doing my best to be real about where I'm at. It has been a day of storms raging within me. I am Sober, and will remain Sober. I like the use of imagery, because it helps portray the struggles of our souls. Sobriety is a worthwhile endeavor.

...As is cleaning the bathroom :-)
'Chop wood, carry water', as they say in Zen.

And yeh, I too like imagery to portray the struggles of our souls. Beautifully put, RDB.
