Fellowship Ideas?

HI ALL,

I'm 5 months sober yesterday (YAY!) and I volunteered to be part of a fellowship committee at AA and I have to come up with some ideas on what we can do together as part of the fellowship. Extra-cirricular activities if you will. You know, coffee after meetings, special outings, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas? I'm trying to think outside of the box, but besides the basics (coffee, dinners, potlucks, etc) I'm at a loss.

Please - any ideas are welcome!
Thanks!

Congrats. I give you credit for stepping up. I was going to meetings after meeting but not becoming a part of anything. I now have a home group and do what I can to be part of the group.

It's a tough decision you have because there are so many personalities, ages and opinons on what is considered enjoyable sober living. That's why so many AA groups stick to the basics of potlucks, picnics and bingo because it's something that can appeal to wide range of groups.

I'd like to give you some advise but can't think of much right now. I'll ask some of my home group members tonight who have been around for a while and get back to you.

I don't know the age range of your group (or if there is one) but physical activity is always good - short hikes, bowling, roller skating! Congrats on 5 months!

We have "One Day Round-ups". Lunch and a speaker or two.

One Day Round Up Update | Alcoholics Anonymous | Help for Alcoholics in Windsor and Essex County

Oldtimer panels are always good too.

Keep up the good work niki

All the best.

bowling, dances, architectural cruise on the river this summer? I think it's fun to do things we used to assume we HAD to drink at, and marvel that they are still fun without!!

You could take a meeting somewhere. Hospital, prison, treatment center etc.

Sober game night, sober cards, midnight bowling (alley was open), sober dance, BBQ....we went rafting one Saturday...gee, anything you can think of would work! We get together every Superbowl day to watch and pay attention to the commercials (another tv in the other room is available for those football enthusiasts....).

I think the "sober" is a given.
