Welcome Krysti. How have your previous attempts at recovery gone? Obviously not ended in total sobriety, but do you have a pattern?

krysti28 03-26-2013 06:43 PM

I have the pattern of going all or nothing in most everything I do thanks to being bipolar probably Drinking has been my greatest enemy as well as my greatest comfort I can stay sober for a short while 80 days is my personal best then I rationalize I can have one or two with dinner and that works for a while then it increases to a small bottle of wine to a large bottle then two bottles rather rapidly chasing that drunk feel good high

You don't need to feel like this anymore. Staying sober will improve your life in so many ways. Do you have any real life support where you are? I stay sober using this site and counseling.

You can do this.:)

Krysti... good job coming forward and posting. That's a hard first step, it was for me when I did it...

I'm now on day 17 and it seems the further I separate myself from the drinking, the better I feel and the more I see how I am gaining my life back and ending a vicious, deadly cycle.

I hope you stay with us a while... :)

We're happy you found us, Krysti. :) The support & encouragement here are amazing.

Hi Krysti!

I'm 29 and we have almost the same quit date... I'm 64 days at midnight. Great work!

As you go along, we have a group of folks who quit in February that post about our progress here, feel free to join in if you find it helpful. :) http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...rt-6-a-11.html

Keep going, you're doing great!
