I just wanted to congratulate you all on your accomplishments and future accomplishments. I'm not an addict and I've never been attracted to crack, h, or any of that it's poison and I'm sure you all know that now. It's killing my people and when I say people I don't mean my "people" (I'm black) I mean MY people white, hispanic, asian, whatever. I have a couple of roommates who are moderate cocaine users and occasional crack users, one of them is the only person I've ever met who can do crack recreationally..he's lucky..I don't suggest trying to do the same. The other is a recovering addict but he hit rock bottom during the "early" stages so his level of addictioan isn't as high as it could've been. If given the oppurtunity he'll binge he spent his income tax on crack..seeing him and my other roommate holed up in a room (our room) with a stripper smoking crack is very depressing..I could just invisiobn them huddled up in a circle smoking. I've even busted my roommate hiding in bathroom..very depressing. But anyway one day I decide to open my mouth and tell them about themselves but instead of sounding like their mothers I approached them as a friend and explained that what I'm saying comes from the heart. I don't know if it's going to work..one roommate can probably stop indefinately if he just wasn't around..it's my second roommate that influences the first to participate in the drug use/abuse. Me and the influential roommate have recently gotten close at friends and he regularly shares his experiences with me I think he's happy to have someone to talk to. But I'm going to wrap this up it's getting long . The point I'm trying to make is I'm very proud of you all and I wanted you to know that people out there care!!! I don't have to be realated or associated with you to care about you, remember that. Well, thank you for caring about us! Addiction is a disease that a lot of people don't understand. Heck, I'm still learning about it myself and I'm an alcoholic.

There is nothing "lowly" about a recovering addict you aren't less of a person than I am don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Besides the people who are talking down on you are only talking down so that they may direct attention away from themselves and their own inner demons.

Haha, I'm 21 and my addictions include web design, my personal art work, Adobe Photoshop, and Macromedia Flash! Oh yea and females too..but that constantly gets me in trouble .

Awesome I don't know how I can help out but I'd love too! I graduate in June and shortly after I'm going to try to go volunteer at rehabs centers but I don't even know if it's possible to do so. I'll have to look into it I'll have to make time for it (very busy with design work, damn clients) but it'll be worth it!
