The reline or new lower should help you tremendously. Ive dealt with this in my family. I would take the piece out as much as possible ( At home, what have you). Your gums are still healing and having it in is probably not helping. Sorry for your loss. I really am.

Non! I freaking love corn nuts! As a matter of fact I buy a bag when I go to jersey. I cannot get them on Long Island. I forgot the bag at home this morning.
trachemys hope you feel better soon. You have a sharp toung for wit. You make me laugh at a lot of your posts. Be careful you don't cut yourself with it.

I'm so sorry you're going through this too. I've had gum problems recently and literally didn't know alcohol was probably the cause of it and what it had been doing to my teeth over the years. I think people need info like this-one of those public service announcements to college kids like "If you keep drinking like the good old days, you'll all be wearing dentures at your reunion?" or "These are your teeth-these are your teeth after abusing alcohol" showing dentures in a glass.
I had to get most of my teeth pulled in January due to my drinking and not looking after my teeth. It took some getting use to but I absolutely love my new dentures!
Getting my teeth done was one of the first things I did after I quit drinking.
