Welcome DGR. You'll find a bunch of people here that you can relate to I'm sure. My name's Dan and I'm a recovering addict. Would have four months now, but I was stubborn on St-Patricks Day! Anyway, pull up a chair and make yourself at home. There's online meetings here too. So if you feel like it, tell us a little bit about what's eating you up. You found a good place.

Re: 1st time here duno what to do (relasped)

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am addicted to pretty much every thing. I seem to lean towards meth because it is all around here. I really hate that. I also hate that I keep putting my wife and family through such pain. That is what really eats me up inside.

Hi DGR,

This is a great place for support, understanding and inspiration. I hope you hang around and get to know us.

I totally understand about the family guilt thing. After 3 1/2 years, I'm still working on that!

Love, Anna

Cool DGR, meth is a bear I hear. You'll be wanting to meet our friend dotcom. She hangs around here and has lots of experience to share about the crystal. Yeah man, we put our families through hell on earth don't we? Like I said, you'll get plenty of support here with all aspects of addiction. Morning meetings can be hard to find sometimes depending on the size of your town. How about weekends or on your days off? Sound off here anytime! Somehow, you'll make sense of it and start affecting change in your life and your family's. Us addicts have a saying... Gotta want it bad enough! Just for today, don't use.
Sit tight. I guaranty others are going to come along today and say hi!

Hi DGR.
Pull up a chair, you come to the right places. Plenty of support here. I also work 2nd shift. I make meetings on weekends. Don’t beat yourself up what’s done is done, Don’t let this disease pull you down. You have so much going for you. You have taken first step, asking for help. Great support here. Hang in there others will be around shortly to extend a hand of friendship.

Thanks ted,

Really helps to hear someone say that. That is exactly why I use it numbs it so you dont feel pain of the past. But when the drug wears off it always seems worse.

Re: 1st time here duno what to do (relasped)

hello DGR
i'm mack-addict sorta like McAddict, i suppose. sounds like you did meetings during your 1st yr, so you know that asking for help is that first admission of powerlessness. Hooray!!
And , what i discovered, was the effect of my using on my family was a big part of recognizing that my life was unmanageable....
So that was that good ol first step stuff for me.
welcome

Re: 1st time here duno what to do (relasped)

Hi DGR,

Welcome to SR; you have found many good people already and there are many more who will show up. Relapsed has the unfortunate ring of going backward. To my way of thinking, you chose to drink/use. Bad choice, but a choice none the less. Today you have another 24 hours in which to make the best possible choices; think carefully what those are, and make them one at a time. Logging on here is one of the great choices, so give yourself a + mark every time you do.

Hugs,
Gianna
