Smile not so new newcomer finally surrendering

Hey everyone! My name is David and I reside in Fort Lauderdale, FL. One of the rising meth capitals in the US, and finally taking my program seriously. I am trying to network with others in recovery. That drug destroyed me, my morals, value, and my brain, and heart. I already have a sponsor and currently reside in a halfway house. My homegroup is CMA Lambda Clubhouse South. Starting step one tomorrow and really excited. Always willing to take some suggestions. Blessed and grateful for all of you here. If it wasnt for others in recovery, i NEVER would have listened to anyone cause they had no idea what I was going through. Much Love

listen to your sponsor, listen to the oldtimers. You will be fine.

Listen to what they say. Keep coming until what they say makes perfect sense.

All the best, David.

Thanks, Bob. Blessed with a sposnor who gets me. and absolutely, i go to a meeting everyday. Its funny, cause today, I woke up worrying about all these problems i gotta take care of in the upcoming week, and i thought to myself, that's tomorrow's problem. And then, TODAY clicked! I started hysterically laughing and my sponsor was laughing a long...I am like, oh i get it now...lol

Hey David, Welcome! By little bro also resides in FLL and he has had problems with just about every drug imaginable but particularly meth and opiates. Seems like, at least with the opiates, there is some "clinic" willing to write him a new prescription every week if he just coughs up the requisite $85 for the visit. It seems almost criminal how easy it is to get this stuff down there. There's a "doctor" every mile or so...and the other stuff is easy to score just about everywhere else.

But you sound very positive and determined to beat this. Glad you got a sponsor who you click with---I have found that very helpful in my recovery from booze. And one day at a time is key.

Best of luck to you and please keep posting, we're here for you!
