St. Patty's Day PACT!!!

Alright guys, I'm fairly new here and I just had a great idea!

This weekend will be tough on me and lots of others, since its one of the biggest drinking holidays of the year...

I'm offering a PACT to anyone who wants to join to swear not to drink this weekend!!!

Either me or if someone beats me to it will make a thread on Monday and we will see who came through with the team, i'm hoping everybody!!!

Also feel free to post on this thread saying what kind of **** you had to go through to stay strong!!! Good Luck everybody, let your four leaf clover be your sobriety hahaha

I did my best to avoid places where I knew there'd be temptation...

why not plan a quieter St Pats day - something that doesn't involve alcohol?

Well, I found I had to make some changes in what I did for fun and who I did it with.
But who knows, you might find otherwise....

Just keep in mind there's a lot of ways to have fun Brett...very few of them necessitate alcohol.

St. Patrick's Day has never been a issue for me, but I'll join this pact. I think my weekend is going to involve three meetings and a lot of triathlon training.

Hey Brett - Count me in!! Firstly, I am only on my 3rd day, I live in Ireland and am going away for St Pat's!! Need all the encouragement I can get - so thank you this will help keep me focused - I will be one of those who will be here on Monday to say I have succeeded even if the odds feel a bit stacked. I am going down South to Sligo and won't be back until next Wednesday but will keep in touch here. Good luck Brett and everyone else xx

I'm in. I've got some challenging social situations on the horizon, and I think I'm going to try to plan ahead. I'm thinking that I'll plan to be at the parties for no more than an hour, and make plans to do something (requiring that I not be intoxicated! e.g., meet up with a sober friend) afterward so that I'll have more incentive not to drink.

In the past I was always the first one to slam four drinks at any party, I just couldn't wait for drunken reveling. But it was never really that fun, led to some utterly insane behavior, and I always felt terrible the next day. I'm going to keep those memories close this weekend, and savor how great it feels to walk home safe, and sober.
