I graduated treatment today!

I guess thats what you call it.

Anyhow I checked myself into a treatment center in January after a DWI. I truly could not believe what a mess I was, and honestly could have cared less if I lived or died.
I have been drinking alot for many years. It got progressively worse when I began working in a bar 5 years ago.

Well my last drink was on Jan 14th this year, Although I was not by any means
happy about even the thought of treatment or help. For I truly didn't think
I was worthy of any help or anyone caring about me anymore.
Hell, I hated myself so much.

But with the help of God, My treatment program, AA, my sober support system INCLUDING SR Site I have begun to realize I AM WORTHY
of a happy sober life. And 57 days of sobriety feels good.
Thankyou for listening & always sharing advise & your stories,
It is so nice to know we are not in this alone!

Peace
~Jules

Thank you all. It was pretty cool. they do a little graduation thing for you (I was in a small group 9 people) Everyone signed my certificate & they passed around my medallion & every said some kind words & encouragement, then I was presented with them.
I did cry, yeah a girl thing, but I was humbled.
I have not been sober this many days in a row in a long time!

Peace & Prayers to us all for another 24 hours!

All the best Sunshine:

You are dry and your feet have been placed on the path to recovery. You have been given tools to address the job ahead. I remember my "graduation" in 1989 after my 90 day program, I still have the signed book ( 24 Hours-A-Day) that was given to me and I read it every day .

You aren't done... you have just begun. Stick close to your sponsor and the oldtimers that know and love you. They will save your life one day at a time.

All the best.

I still have my Big Book of AA, my little
black 24 Hours a Day book and the 12
and 12 Step Book handed to me 22 yrs.
ago. They are worn, written in, yellowed,
used and still filled with important information
on how to stay sober a day at a time.

I took those awesome tools with me to
Big Book studies, 12 and 12 Step studies,
AA meetings, outside, parks, my car, in
my favorite chair, trips, and so on to stay
close at hand.

All the tools and knowledge of my alcoholism
in those first 28 days of my sobriety were very
crucial as I began my journey each day I stayed
sober. My heart, mind and soul absorbed that
information so i could rely on it, live on it, breath,
eat, sleep, pray, learn, and grow on it as I take
each step to stay sober.

22 yrs later, im still on my journey living and enjoying
the rewards of the promises granted to us as long
as we stay sober and continue to pass on all
the information passed on to me over the yrs.
thru sharing my own ESH- experiences, strengths
and hopes to the newcomer or those still struggling
with addiction.

I am responsible today for my own recovery,
humble and grateful for the gift of sobriety.

Powerful wonderful words. I thank you very much.

That is so great that you are 22 years sober. And you are sharing & helping us all in this journey.
PEACE & LOVE
