The fact is going to meetings at this stage (5 hours of driving on my own through the bush at night!). So I will be using other avenues of recovery. As I said I would love
To start some meetings out here.

Another dr appt today. They must get sick of seeing me. Last week he said to prepare mentally for action. I'm scared as to what tht means.
I'm going in a couple of days early because I can't get there the next few days before I run out of Valium so I hope he doesn't think I'm being dodgy. I might take the bottle to show him I still have a couple of days worth left.

Why not now?
I am on day 7, clean and sober, off of my oxycodones. I choose to cold turkey and come back into recovery before my doctor made the choice for me.
Yes, It was hard the first several days, as I am no spring chicken, but my grown children spent 4 hours with me this afternoon.... first time in about a year, as, before this detox, all I wanted to stay in my bedroom and chew my pills, and zone out in front of the tv. I am already beginning to live life! I am also scared... I return to work tomorrow after this week in my own home grown detox center. By the way, gratitude has really helped me... I am so grateful I detoxed with plenty of Gatorade, Immodium, and a soft warm bed instead of a cold jail cell or in a sterile hospital or detox center with other people around.
You will be glad you are starting this journey.... I certainly am!
Peace,
M.

Well done on day 7.. I often feel like I'm. It strong enough to do it at home and like the idea of going to rehab(again) but it's logistically hard.
I can't cold turkey off benzos, it's too dangerous. I just wish it didnt have to be such a long and drawn out process.
Well done to you. Keep going !

MLC, it's nice to hear you're doing okay!
I check in on your threads from time to time--but how is everything else for you? Job, family, floods? We had a very benign winter this year, I am hoping your challenges are smoothing over.
