Im meeting an old friend I had back when I was drinking in about 10 minutes. Im so nervous and I want a drink so badly. He doesnt drink and we're just going out for coffee but im not used to sober social interaction. Its really scary!

It actually went really well and I was so surprised how little time it took me to feel comfortable and at ease with the situation. The conversation flowed quite easily. I almost bailed, but SO glad I didn't.

I feel that it was something I needed to do to move forward in my recovery. I guess to kind of "prove" to myself that I dont have to be wasted to be social.

For the first time in years I actually felt "normal". It was a great feeling :-)

yeah, there was/is definitely a lot to be said for doing the things we almost bailed on!
